About Phil
Phil was born in Alberta in 1949 and grew up in
a small town called Three Hills.
Over thirty years ago, Phil put together his own
company called "Sheltens Construction" and began
building houses. Jager Home, Homes By Avi, Allanridge
Homes And TriCo Homes are just a few of the homes
builders that Phil and his crews have built houses for
throughout Calgary. In the course of
these years, Phil has bulit over six hunderd houses (600) and trained many young men to become
framers. Some who now have companies of their own.
"Phil’s
School Of Framing" has become a popular phrase throughout
the work field, used whenever someone needed advise or
help with the house they were building.
Phil also did seismic up north and did voluntary work for
the "Cross Field Fire Department".
Many of the names that were often spoken in his home
were: Ernie (Ernie’s Crane), Pete (The Plumber), Irwin (Jager
Superviser), Joe (Gosbee’s Construction), Richard Lightle
(Snowmobiling Buddy), and most of all his best friend for many
years "John Zwaal".
Phil enjoyed and took pride in everything he did. He was a
Christian and a very family oriented man, who always put
their wants and needs ahead of his own.
Phil is survived by one sister, two brothers, four
children, two step children, eight grand children and
his fiancée. All of whom he loved dearly.
He had a great love for nature and has told many
stories of his adventures in life.
